Toilet facilities

Pretty well vital in some places especially if you get a stomach bug out in the wilds.

You can get packs of paper towels as installed in washroom dispensers about 8" square (20cms) and folded in two.

Thicker than toilet tissue this can have multiple uses - use your imagination.

We used to get through a heck of a lot of toilet tissue in Rabanal and were always topping up the washrooms, called away while doing this one day I foolishly left a brand new pack of 12 rolls by the sinks, on my return 5 mins later it had all disappeared!

One of the nicest things about (even rural) Spain is that while PUBLIC toilets aren't common the bar/restaurant/hotel owners take care with tiling their washrooms and toilets and keeping themn clean, I've found a dirty washroom is (fortunately) a fairly rare occurrence or am I just lucky?

Thanks to all the replies to my previous questions which were very helpful. I've looked through the archives and have not found anything relating to toilet facilities on the Camino: In the refugios, On the Camino, In towns and villages.Is toilet paper a must to carry. Can I get some feedback on this most important of functions. Having spent time travelling in the far and near east I'm prepared for anything, but knowledge is strength. Look forward to seeing everyone in September.I arrive in Madrid on the morning of the 15th and am looking to make my way to Pamplona and maybe Rouncevalles that same day.
