I'm not sure exactly WHAT you're apologising for, if it was for quoting the words 'aggressively francophone' then what is there to apologise about?  I would hope anybody, irrespective of their place of birth, who has French as a first language would be 'aggressively francophone' - if you can't stand up for your own language what can you stand up for? I'm sure no Québecoise would take offence at any such 'accusation'.
