I thought that the article by Leslie Barr in the 14.1 (Summer 2002) "Friends Newsletter" was informative on the 25 things people consider taking -- or not -- on the trek. She talks aobut kinds of clothing, compass, bottles, raincoats, alarm clocks, etc. Linda D
