renting a car in Santiago

We have rented a car in Santiago and driven to Finisterre and then back
along the coast to San Sebastian where we turned in the car and took
trains the rest of the way. The Spanish roads are very good.  If you are
going to Rome, you can drive to Madrid or Barcelona and take a night
train from there to Rome (or nearly anywhere.) A couchette is not very
expensive. Buen viaje. Lydia
