Walking the Camino in reverse?

Thousands have done it before. Before mass transport Pilgrims would have
had to walk back home after their pilgrimage to Santiago.
On a more practical note ....last year I met a German who was walking back
from Santiago, but was having great dfficulty. He explained to me that
every time he lost the track, he got really lost with nobody to help him.
He did not seem to be enjoying himself.
