Nearly all the larger refuges on the Camino can provide you with a
pilgrim passport. It costs just a few cents and takes a couple of
minutes.

There will be a fountain of good drinkable water in practically every
village you pass through, and also at some places in between. If you
don't see it, ask for the "fuente". You certainly don't need to take
much water with you. Get yourself a 1/3 liter plastic bottle of
mineral water at a shop, and keep the bottle to re-fill when you pass
a fountain.

One last word of advice. Avoid what is far and away the commonest
mistake - don't try to carry too much. You would be surprised to find
how little you really need to take. If your fully loaded pack is more
than 15 pounds, do cut it down for your own sake.
