what about phonecalls?

I have spent about a total of 7 months in Spain, and while I was there most
of my loved ones were here. So, one thing that I became very familiar
with... were phone cards. First, I will tell you, DO NOT buy the telefonica
cards (to phone overseas)... you will get only a very short period of time.
Instead find a tabac shop in a larger city where they have many tourists and
buy a phone card there. In my experience the best phone card is Eurocity,
Europe or even the Hello cards. However, I bought a phone card for 6 euros
that gave me 330 minutes to Canada - I think it was a eurocity card. In any
case each tobacco shop carries only a few cards and it is best to just look
through the rates. Good luck.

Am beginning in a few weeks. What about international calls on the Camino?
Did you buy a card or take a phone? Mary
