Lack of Diversity on the Camino

I am sure that the origin of all this was supposed to be a joke -- but
somehow didn't quite make it through cyberspace as a joke, and people took
it seriously.

1938 until 1964 Attended school and served with the United States Marine
Corps before graduating from Lamar University with a degree in History and
Economics. Also worked as a merchant seaman earning Fireman-Oiler
certification and studied at Mexico City College, acquiring fluent Spanish,
along with an appreciation of Latin culture.

1964 until 1970 Entered graduate school at Texas A & M University, earning a
Ford Foundation Fellowship to do research on developing nations. Worked in
the Dominican Republic before earning a doctorate in agricultural economics.
