Sad events in Galicia.

Not wishing to be accused of stirring the pot but thought you should know.
Prime Minister Aznar's popularity in Spain has reached an all time low
principally because of his wholehearted support for the Bush/Blair war on
Iraq.
This culminated last week with the offices of his Popular Party in Galicia
being fire bombed.
I am told by friends out there that there is a lot of disquiet because he is
devoting a lot of energy to a war the majority of Spaniards do not support
instead of sorting out domestic problems such as unemployment and clearing
oil off of Galician beaches.
They further report that both the Americans and British are being received
'cooly' but, for the most part, with no outward antagonism. American
students sporting a popular tee-shirt with the slogan F**K BUSH - STOP THE
WAR! are, however, being tread much more warmly.
I hope you manage to tread a more moderate (and less offensive) Camino.
best wishes
Jeffrey
