Travel info

I flew to Paris last July and took a cab from DeGaulle Airport to the
Gare Montparnasse where I waited about 2 hours to get a train (TGV) to
Bayonne. In Bayonne, I changed tracks and waited about 3 minutes to
catch another train to St. Jean (slow train).
I have heard you can get the tgv train to Bayonne from the airport,
but my timing did not jive and I didn't want to sit around an airport
all day and then get in to St Jean at night.
This way, I landed in the early morning, had a stroll through the
neighborhood, a cafe and croissant for breakfast and arrived in Bayonne
around 1:00 PM, and in St Jean a few hrs later.
The train travel must be booked ahead of time, can be done on line,
and is fairly inexpensive. I am sure there are trains from Paris to
Limoges as well, although I have not researched that.
Also, we had dinner in St Jean, stayed in the Hotel Ramuncho, and
started our journey the next morning early across the Pyrenees.
hope this helps
