Hello you all,
I just finished reading a book about the knights Templar that makes a lot of
sense, at least to me.
The Reid book that came out about a year ago did not impress me. Perhaps
because I read it in translation from French to English. But I thought it
somewhat overladen.
By contrast, the book that I read last night is concise and full of
information. It was written by M. G. Sales and published in 2002, (ISBN
84-932402-2-2), and in a mere 180 pages reasonably dispels quite a few of the
myths surrounding that group of soldier-monks who united themselves to
protect pilgrims and that grew in numbers, from the original 9 into the
thousands, and went from monkish poverty to become the bankers of kings.
Their destruction is explained as a political necessity in a cogent and
saddening manner.
The book also expounds on the famous SATOR-AREPO-TENET-OPERA-ROTAS "magic
square" that appears in so many places of pilgrimage, including, of course,
Santiago de Compostela.
Well, I thought I'd share the wealth.
Warm regards,
Rosina
