Hi Leonard!
I am also curious about the origin of the names. Please, let me know if you
ever get a compilation of them.
Someone should be able to do it if has the access to some information.
Maybe, our friends in Spain? Maybe students at the University of Compostela?
For sure I believe you already know that "Compostela" means "Campo de
Estrellas" or "Field of Stars" probably referring to the "Milk Way".

Does any one know where one can find the origin of the names of the
cities and towns along the Camino? An example is "Pamploma" which means
as far as I can tell "The city of Pompey" This part of the history is
very elusive.
