Hi Ana,
"O Globo", a Brazilian newspaper reports that the Brazilian would-be
pilgrim, a middle-aged medical doctor, arrived in Pamplona intending to go to
SJPP, or a similar starting point, but that by mistake (!) his arrangements
took him to another site from which he disappeared.
His wife is presently in Spain looking for him, with the help of the Guardia
Civil, hospitaleros, and many others.
It is also reported that while not taking customary pilgrimage equipment,
backpack and so on, he did take with him a very large amount of money and
made a number of long-term financial arrangements before leaving his home in
Rio.
There appears to be no indicia of foul play.
There are all sorts of rumors about his disappearance in the Brazilian Camino
list-serv; the list posts hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of messages
daily, and there appear to be as many theories about his disappearance.
How are you, dear Ana?
Best regards,
Rosina
