Hola;
You can take a high speed train from Paris to Bordeaux. Cost?
The train from Santiago to Madrid is about $45.00 USD. Just ask for a
schedule, no one wants to speak English at the train station. The schedule
is not reliable, however. We were going to take a train (Sept 2000) which
allowed bikes free but found out that we missed it. Schedule incorrect. We
ended renting a car from Avis for one day and for two of us it was cheaper
to rent a car than take the train. And the trip to Madrid was fun because
we drove back over the Camino to Burgos then south, a long way, but fun.
Finally, they use the Euro now so currency should not be a problem. In any
event there are plenty of banks to change money or there are plenty of ATMs.
