The Route: Skipping? NOT

Hi Andrea
Two of us walked from LePuy to Cahors, France (a little over 200
miles) this summer in June/July and found it to be stunningly
beautiful and interesting at that time of year. In the heat of June,
for example, there were beautiful wildflowers -- violettes and others
everywhere -- what an unexpected gift! There are many interesting
churches, villages, and historical sites along the way -- e.g.,
Conques. I also enjoyed walking through the countryside -- beside the
farms, pastures ... often the country side was very deserted -- and
certainly peaceful. You will get along if you speak some French ... I
also heard some dialects and accents that were challenging to
interpret.

The path was relatively uncrowded on a daily basis although we did
meet people and make friends at the various gites in villages and
along the way. I would not have missed a single step on this part of
the path! The food was also wonderful and I would not have missed
that either.

We are breaking the journey up into multiple stages and doing what we
can each summer since that's when we have the free time.

Best to you in your planning. We used principally the French guides
to the path and found them very useful
