post offices on the camino

As I recall, the first post office that I encountered was in Estella (and it was there that I mailed about 5 kilos of "stuff" back home).

Do U really need a Duffle bag??

I packed my backpack in a large box and shipped it that way.  At Madrid it stayed in the box, and then onto the bus to San Sebastian.  It worked for me.

Coming back home, at the Madrid airport, there is a machine which will encase your luggage in plastic wrap; a security thing.  I didn't use it, but it is there.
