With regards to packing to much:

go ahead..

part of life is learning what is weighing you down and how to say goodbye to
that thing. I packed as light as I thought I could, but I soon learned to
let go of anything that didn't help me get to Santiago. Whatever is our
life's ultimate goal, for me it is God, the hardest thing in life is letting
go of the triffles with which we try to fill our need to be in control -- we
always feel the need for such things, like, inflatable vests on airplanes.

I say, pack as light as you can, but don't sweat it.. if you need it you can
buy it (Spain ain't third world), and if you can't do without it, take and
see, and mail it home or give it away when you realize you can. I recommend
the later over the former (saves money, and if you don't need it walking,
chances are you don't need it watching tele at home).

peace,
mpb
