The place to be careful is El Acebo, on the descent from Rabanal and the
mountains of Leon.  To quote Higginson,  "This, like other mountain hamlets,
has the main road running through it's centre but this rod is not covered
with smooth tarmac but slippery cobbles with a gutter running down its
centre.  On bicycles this is a potential death trap and extreme care should
be taken, even in dry weather.  Cyclists have died here.  be warned ! "
