The photographs are so atmospheric and create such a sense of the camino that I forwarded it to 2 friends who want to do it but wonder what they are letting themselves in for.     Hello. 
    I am new to this list. I am a photographer living in Portugal, and I drove for 7 days through the Camino, as I can not walk.
    I am currently compiling my notes and thoughts about the Camino, and I would appreciate some help on data.
    Are there any statistics of number of pilgrims per year anywhere ? I read in  "IBERIA" by James Mitchner that several centuries ago there were more than a  million pilgrims a year, and I would like to verify this.
