The gift of life

You are so right.  Death is not only a part of life, but is the mirror which
reflects life so that we can see it clearly.  I am a hospice chaplain and
visit dying patients almost every day.  I was called early today to a bedside
of one that I often visited.  A man of great faith and Christian commitment.
But he died at 8:15---before I could even get there for a last prayer, a last
song.

I am convinced that when the journey of this life ends, the pilgrimage
continues on another plane--in another dimension. Many have gone before us
and we follow in their footsteps.   Maybe that is part of the attraction of
the Way of St. James.
