I think I sent my reply unfinished. Here 'tis
Fantastic! Go for it.
Frankly I have thought that if a doctor told me I had cancer, I would go to
Spain straight away. Several of my fellow pilgrims last year found
themselves contemplating they end. I suppose it was the several memorials we
passed in bronze, marble, and stone to those who passed away on their
journey. We talk of the Camino as a metaphor for life and is not death an
important part of life? (Would life be as valuable if there was no death at
the end of it?) My friend Philippe said that he could not imagine a better
place to die. Since those who have walked to Compostela feel the Camino was
a wonderful place to live, that makes the Camino perfect, wouldn't you say?
We walk to give thanks, to ask, to be. For myself, I asked to be closer to
my Maker. Had he called me home, that would have been fine. He did not, and
I had a wonderful time. We can't lose!

I second Howard's suggestion that we move on to something positive. I would
like to start this.
