Hello again,
The Cultural Ministry in Spain has recently produced a bibliography of
the Camino de Santiago: It is a two-volume publication called "Bibliografia
del Camino de Santiago"e published by the Ministerio de Educacion, compiled
by Gloria Rokisky and Yolanda Clemente and coordinated by Fermin de los Reyes
Gomez.
8,614 entries were reportedly culled from some thirty-thousand
references. The information is based on publications about the Camino from
1495 until September 1999. The references are classified chronologically, by
century, and then, within the particular century, alphabetically.
Of particular interest to the distinguished (much admired by me) scholars
among you will be the fact that the bibliography indicates where the cited
publications may be found. The compilers, aided by professors from the
"Facultad de Folologia de la Universidad Complutense" visited 32 libraries
and archives and studied 43 periodical publications, 18 databases and 144
bibliographic anthologies. The entries include publications in all languages,
but apparently only those referring to Spanish books are accompanied by
commentaries and assessments.
The bibliography represents the completion of a Jacobean scholarly
project commenced more than one hundred years ago.
Warm greetings,
Rosina
