Hi Jack-
  Thank you so much for your time and efforts in relaying the nuts and bolts
of the trip to all of us yet to depart.
I am curious as to the amount of training you did prior to departure.  I am
leaving july 20 (i realize it will be incredibly hot) and I am only walking
aboout 6 miles per day right now, most of them with my black lab instead of
my backpack) to train .
do you think I will be one of the "taxi seekers"?
PS I am 47 and in fairly good shape, but worried a bit about the knees.
