Hello Friends and Family!
With Glory to God and funding from the Fund for Theological Education, I am
going to be going on a pilgrimage this summer, that will include lots of
walking, busses, trains, planes . . .
Several destinations of prayer are in the plan, but included among them are
Santiago de Compostella (Spain), Fatima (Portugal), the Reek (Ireland),
Cantebury (UK), Lourdes, Chartres and others (France). I will also be
spending a week in Taize, and, and in some other monastaries along the way.
This summer is the experiential aspect of a project I am doing for the Fund
for Theological Education, which is focusing on pilgrimages as a means of
being in prayer that protestants like myself often take for granted.
I have created this list of several friends and family, because I plan on
using email as little as possible (won't be reading very often, and
responding even less). I will try to send updates about the pilgrimage
occasionally, but I promise they will be infrequent -- and probably somewhat
brief (as much as possible for me, anyway :)
So, please keep me in your prayers and thoughts. If you have any specific
concerns about which you might like me to pray, or specific dates, please
let me know before I leave (on May 5th) and I will jot them in my prayer
book.
Peace and love,
Michael Barham
