My sister in law, Liz, an Episcopalian from Georgia whose mother, a DAR
member, thought of herself as pretty much English, and whose father could
trace his ancestry in England back to the 14th Century Celts, told me that
while bicycling the Camino last summer an English-speaking Monsignor from the
Leon Cathedral, informed her that all Santiago pilgrims are, in fact,
honorary Spaniards.
In a profound sense I suppose that's right.
