Starting off on the right foot?

Hello!  I am new to the list and am going to walk the camino this summer
with my boyfriend.  I need some help-  We are arriving from Austin, TX USA
on June 28 and then renting a car to take to Pamplona and should be there
around 6pm.  We would like to go to the Mass in Roncevales that night and
begin the el camino in St. Jean Pied de Port.  How do people usually travel
between Pamplona and Roncelvales and then on to St. Jean Pied de Port?  We
also need to get our passports, do we get that in Rocevales after the Mass
or in St. Jean Pied de Port?  Thanks in advance- Katie
