Karen,
I suffer from an allergy to some grass or weed that
grows profusely in Spain (I'm not sure whether or not it is ragweed). This
allergy affects me so severely from about the last week of May through about
the first week of July in Navarra and Castilla-Leon that over-the-counter
medications don't give me much respite, and I sometimes am nearly
incapacitated. Needless to say, I was somewhat concerned about this before
beginning the Camino this year, which I walked during the height of this
allergy season So, I went to a doctor beforehand in the States, who gave
me a prescription for Claritin and some nose spray (Flonaze, or something
close to that is the name of the product). These worked wonderfully. I
took them daily while on the Camino, and the allergies did not bother me at
all.
Best, Randy
