Lodging in Madrid

I heartily second Elyn's message! I was there in spring of 2000. The
location is perfect; one block from Lope de Vega's house (museum) and easy
walk to the Plaza de Santa Ana in the old section of Madrid, with nice tapas
bars. A nice little cafe in the same block with the hostal; excellent
tortilla espanola and a block from a tourist office and a taxi stand. The
proprietor doesn't speak English, but you could communicate. Ask for a
front room (they have balconies).
