Bringing a stone to the camino

There are two places for stones although all along the Camino pilgrims leave
mounds of stones in various places or make arrows with stones that they find.
 The place you want to bring the stone to is a mound with a large cross above
it called Cruz de Hierro, just past Foncebadon, at the highest point on the
Camino which is after Rabanal on the way to Ponferrada.  Other pilgrims bring
stones to the cathedral in Santiago as pilgrims did in olden times, but I
don't know where they deposit them.  Howard
