Dear Pilgrims, Carolyn,
Take after you/ve seen "Tour Saint Jacques" stayed at the hotel Saint
Jacques in Rue St Jacques in Paris, the TGV Atlantique from Montparnasse to
Hendaye (Irun). Then take the train (or cab) to St Jean. Many very good
hotels with good food. Do NOT forget to take extra food and water for there
are NO shops in Roncevalles for the next day.
The first stop will be in Burgeutte on your right hand side will be a bar
for morning cafe (con leche) and sweet cakes.
The best guide book is a matter of difference amongst pilgrims.
The English Confraternity has a yearly updated booklet
I like best the Spanish guide by "El Pais"
In Roncevalles there is an extensive bookstore.....and two restaurants
(hotels) and bars.
Do NOT miss the pilgrims blessing in the church !
As always !
