walking stick

Hi Alice,
I could not have done it without the walking stick. It kept me from sliding
down pebbly steep inclines, particularly in the rain, it helped propel me up
the ever-recurring hills, etc., etc., etc. I left all pilgrimage related
travel things behind in Santiago, (including the backpack), except my walking
stick which is hanging on the wall in my bedroom waiting for the next
pilgrimage in the summer. I've grown to think of it as a friend.
