Coolmax underwear works great, but I really like silk underwear--dries in no
time and quite cool!
As to hats, I used a supplex nylon version of a Tilley-style hat--but with a
brim wide enough to give shade, a lighter material. The brim started to sag,
however, from the weight of all the Camino pins I added to it and the
hatband! I've heard some people say get a hat you can wet down to help stay
cool.
