Hi Terry,

You can take a bus/plane/train from Madrid to Pamplona. If you are flying
from the US you can book directly to Pamplona (the extra cost is negligible).
From Pamplona there is a Pilgrims' bus to Roncesvalles that leaves the city
about 6:00 p.m. and gets you there in time to get your pilgrim's passport and
attend the touching Blessing Service at the Roncesvalles lovely church. You
can either stay in Roncesvalles where the albergues have recently been
enlarged significantly and refurbished, or you can take a taxi to St. Jean's
for about $6. Dlls.
In St Jeans there is at least one albergue. If full, there are many
inexpensive places where one may stay.

Regards,

Liz
