Sorry to be late to respond, but they are not necessarily "modes" as commonly
understood in computer science.    "attributes" is better because it doesn't
imply anything about static/dynamic.

And because there are also rounding precision attributes for extended
precision, it's best to stick uniformly with "rounding direction attributes".
