DavidHough,
Youare a purist like me :)

Sofar between Campo and Etna Summit my omissions are the 'Frog Detour' and theFuller Ridge section (long term fire closure).  I hiked the prettyofficial alternate route (continuous path) off the ridge into Idyllwild and upSan Jacinto.

Inthe Sierra I hiked the PCT side below Thousand Island Lake, and then doubledback to then do the official JMT route, because I was completing thattoo.   The 'official' PCT route around Red's Meadow was a muddy mess, and the mule trains were not very happy to see me there.  I was the onlyhiker I saw on that part.

Lookingback on what I have done, while I would be happy to make it back to hike FullerRidge, I probably will not.  I hiked the trail as it existed when I wasthere.  I understand there was a reroute north of Sierra City since I havebeen through, but at some point you just have to accept that the trail is somewhatdynamic.  If the ever open up the 'Tejon Ranch' reroute I might go backfor that, because it looks beautiful.

Lookingforward, I hope to make Crater Lake this summer.  The choice there will bea test of my obsessiveness with this, but I will probably hike both routes asyou did.

Scott
