I lost the Half-Mile PCT map when I upgraded an iphone.   I still have
eTrails on both phones, but I don't think they have updated themselves
lately.    The authors decide not to maintain them, or withdraw them
completely, and that's the end.     They might have good personal or legal
reasons.

All in all, it's a good reason to always have paper maps and trail guides
with you as a backup to your electronics.
