Dear Hikers,
I got this note from David “Money” Harris who was the force behind
eTrails. Understandable, but sad — really loved that app, especially for
us section hikers, but also for anyone who loved information about the land
we were hiking through.
Safe and happy trails,
Susan from Spokane/Sunshine
Susan,
I’m sorry to disappoint - I dropped eTrails last year. I think you and I
are the only ones who were using it, and I was paying $100 a year to keep
it in the app store and had to periodically fix things that Apple broke
with upgrades.
I licensed all the data to FarOut guides. They adopted a bunch of my trail
data and waypoints, but I don’t think they did anything with the
descriptions.\
Have a great trip!
:(

I can confirm that it appears to be gone, or not
widely distributed. My guess is a lawyer was
involved in this.
