Since 1969, the ARITH symposia have served as the primary and
reference conference for presenting scientific work on the latest
research in computer arithmetic. Since 1981, the ARITH symposia have
been a biannual event, alternating between North America and Europe.

This year's conference features a keynote talk by Dr. David Shaw,
founder and Chief Scientist of D. E. Shaw Research and an invited
talk by Stanley Mazor, a designer of the world's first microprocessor,
the Intel 4004. It also includes 21 technical papers in the following
areas of computer arithmetic:
      * Arithmetic Hardware;
      * Arithmetic Algorithms and Number Systems;
      * Finite Fields and Cryptography;
      * Mathematical Software;
      * Decimal Hardware;
      * Floating-point Techniques;
      * Decimal Transcendental Functions;

The conference also features special sessions on Interval Arithmetic,
Automated Synthesis of Arithmetic Operations, and GPU Graphics and
Computing, as well as a panel on Decimal Arithmetic in Industry.

Social events include a conference reception on June 7th, a conference
banquet on June 9th, and an optional lunch cruise on the Willamette River
on June 10th.
