As David Hough describes F--, the proposed array syntax sounds quite
similar to the "spread arrays" in Split-C, a parallel language
produced by Culler and Yelick at Berkeley
   http://HTTP.CS.Berkeley.EDU/projects/parallel/castle/split-c/
and also several other parallel C extensions by others,
such at AC by Bill Carlson at IDA, and another language by
Eugene Brooks at LLNL. All these folks are currently
trying to decide on one common language extension (to be called
UPC, for Universal Parallel C) that takes the best of each
language.
