lecture notes for floating-point panel (draft)

Shortly following is a compressed postscript file containing the current
draft of W. Kahan's lecture notes on IEEE 754, as distributed at the
floating-point panel session yesterday at Stanford.   There are some typos
to be corrected; if you notice any other corrections, please notify Kahan
at 510-642-5638.    Since  this is not yet final, please don't distribute
further.
