If my father were alive today, I think he'd be happiest celebrating it with
his great-grandchild Samantha Jean Hough, who is a very energetic 2 1/2-year-old.

She recently commented that I was old but her mother was new.   I told her that
she was VERY new!

As I face the increasing limitations of old age, I hope that I can be as stoic
and cheerful despite them, as my father was.   He was always glad to see
his grandchildren and to provide a comforting word as the situation warranted.
