Subject: Well done, thou good and faithful servant:  enter thou into the joy
 of thy lord - Matthew 25:21

Dear family and friends,

Good and faithful servant Granville Watkins Hough entered into the joy
of the Lord on at 6:21pm on 3 March 2010, from his home in Laguna Woods, 
California.    
His children Bonny and David were near.
David was reading Psalm 23 aloud to Granville when his breathing stopped.
Pastor Leland Lantz of Lutheran Church of the Cross had visited earlier 
in the afternoon
and we had a talk about faith and farming which we trust Granville heard 
and enjoyed.

He was a good and faithful son, taking over the management of his
father's farm at the age of 13.

He was a good and faithful brother, raising his younger brothers and
acting as peacemaker among his brothers in later years.

He was a good and faithful husband, devoted to his wife Carol in health
and sickness from their marriage in 1947 until her passing in 2003.

He was a good and faithful father to their four children, David, Nancy,
Robin, and Bonny.

He was a good and faithful grandfather to his two grandchildren, Susanna
and Kendrick, and enjoyed every moment of every adventure, great and small.

He was a good and faithful cousin, genealogist, and historian, writing 
down memories of persons and
survival and culture of a time that seemed normal to the participants 
yet remarkable to their descendants.

He was a good and faithful champion of all the forgotten patriots and
allies of the American War of Independence.

He was a good and faithful officer of the United States Army for 23
years, serving in a critical intelligence analysis capacity at the 
height of the cold war.

He was a good and faithful professor of business administration for
another 23 years, teaching generations of students about project management.

He was a good and faithful member of Lutheran Church of the Cross and
supporter of Crean Lutheran South High School.

Now he has joined all those saints who from their labors rest.   
Memorial services will be held at Lutheran Church
of the Cross later this month at a time to be announced.    Placement at
Arlington National Cemetery in his final
resting place next to Carol will occur later this spring.

We thank all you good and faithful family members and friends who have
helped and supported him in his last years,
and remember all those others who helped him on his way and have gone on 
before.

May the peace of Christ be with you all, as it is with Granville Hough.
