Merry Christmas to our fantastic Richardson Family,

	All is well here in Durham, NH.  It has been a good year with a few major changes.  Betsi’s really big news is her retirement after 41 years as a dental hygienist.  It’s a big change, but she quickly adjusted and is enjoying not going into work every day.  Last Spring Betsi’s mother passed away from complication related to Alzheimers.  The other bummer of the year was my broken fibula (lower leg, back side) due to dropping a piece of staging on my leg while painting the house.  Good news, I’m back in shape and have enjoyed a bit of post-injury rock climbing and a rigorous 4 credit UNH / SOLO Wilderness First Responder class.  Boy Scouts continue to consume a large part of my time with many area scouts earning their Climbing Merit Badge here in our yard on our 20’ tall climbing tower.  Ellen continues to work as an assistant manager at the Boston University Law Library and Derek graduated from U-Mass Lowell with a BS in Electrical Engineering.  We celebrated Ellen & Derek’s delayed wedding reception in August here at our home and at the home of Derek’s parents, we are next door neighbors (yes, in October, 2014 Ellen and Derek married the boy / girl next door).  Martha returned to Durham after living in SanDiego for awhile.  She and long time boy friend Chris just returned from a vacation and visit with a friend in Bogota, Columbia.  

	We enjoyed seeing many of you at the annual Richardson July 4th gathering in Lincoln / Woodstock, NH.  Betsi and I look forward to seeing many of you in the not too distant future, perhaps in our new / used (“Pre-enjoyed” as they say) RV.  After 28 years, 68,000 miles (high milage for an RV) and many memories it was time for an upgrade as the previous RV was well used and now qualifies for antique motor vehicle registration.   

	My family email list isn’t quite complete, please feel free to forward this to any family members that are missing from the list above.  And please forward any address corrections and additions to me at  tomr3 at comcast.net <mailto:tomr3 at comcast.net>.  Then you can receive any important or not so important family news “as it happens” (well, as soon as I hear about it).

	And one more family thing;  I am now the custodian for over 400 copies of the “Richardson-Hartley-Arender and Related Families” book compiled over many decades by Tom Richardson Sr. (Grampa would be 120 years old if still living).   First printed in 1969 and updated and reprinted in 1997, this book is the history and genealogy of our family back to 1815 (over 5,000 entries).  My father (Tom R Jr.) and I would like to see every member of the family have a copy for themselves and additional copies to pass on to the next generation.  There is no charge to family members for the book, only a yet to be determined minimal cost for postage and heavy duty mailing envelope.  Please advise me of how many copies you would like.  And, are any of you a genealogy hobbyist ?  After 29 years this book could use another update and conversion to a family web site, a format that is accessible to all and easily updated as needed.  The youngest generation in the book are now married, has children, and a few grand children.  We need to get going on updating the not yet historic, but quickly getting there, part of our family history.
