Hello Houghs,

From the Richardson wing of the flock, all is well in New Hampshire if you happen to like -1'F and about 16" of snow in three days. This is rare for before Christmas, many of our Christmas's are not white and not all that cold. Where's global warming when we need it ?

Interesting that Geranville had concerns about population and related issues. History seems to show that increased life expectancy out weighs war and disease. From 1939 to 1946 the USA lost about 1 out of every 334 citizens to war deaths, but, inspite of those premature deaths, our average life expectancy increased about 3.4 years in the same time period. Worldwide deaths from the 1918 flu are not well documented, but it is likely that in a few months that epidemic killed more people than WW1 and WW2 combined. And we all know how world population has increased in the past century. Note: If the USA had the same percentage of combat deaths today as we did in WW2 that would be about 951,000 deaths in the past five years.

I suspect that most of our grandchildren will do well in terms of age. There is a billboard in Boston that states that some big percentage, I think is says over 50%, of the babies born today will live past 100 years old. The concern is how will our economy support all of these elderly citizens.
