I talked about Judges today with the Alzheimer's group, (9/10/2004),
with primary emphasis on
Deborah.  I found
some music which fitted the situation and used it, Placido Domingo as
Barak, the reluctant general, Sarah Brightman as Deborah, the insistent
judge, and an unidentified voice as Jael, the stalwart Jewess who nailed
the Caananite general to the ground with a mallet and tent peg.  One
lady even reminded me that last week we had Joshua fighting the Battle
of Jericho!
     Next week we get into Kings.  I don't know whether to do it in one
fell swoop, or divide it into portions.  Right now, I think one fell
swoop is the better approach, lumping Samuel I and II with Kings I and
II into one 400 year series.  Then I can get on into the prophets, great
and small.
