Suggest mid-size boots, over the ankle; I bought Asolo, an Italian boot bought in the U.S.; Try to keep under 20#, 15# is better - go for a light weight back pack & include the weight of 2 small plastic water bottles. Waterproof boots or Gortex are your choice, but not necessary in my opinion. Good socks are more important. Get a lite weight fast drying camping towel. Only 1 change of clothes is necessary.
