<DIV><FONT size=2>Biking the Camino is a wonderful way to do it. We
did it in May in 2001 and 2003. However, be advised the "peregrinos en
bicycleta" are often not welcome at albergues, or if they are accepted, it is
not until late in the day. Some albergues refuse bicycles until
5:30 PM if there is room, (Mansilla) others (Palais de Rei) not until 7:30
PM. Others (the municipal albergue in Castrojeriz)
never. Waiting until the last minute may leave you without
a bunk in an albergue, and without the option of a hostal or hotel room
(being then full late in the day). I suggest you plan your itinerary
and make reservations in the morning a private refugio down the road.

<DIV><FONT size=2>When we were there this year, in May, often the albergues were
full by 3 in the afternoon. In the summer the situation may be even
tighter. </FONT></DIV>
