<P>I was aware of the sensitivity of floppy disks, videotapes, etc. being sensitive to radioation, but not about film. I appreciate your advice. You have given me and possibly others some additional foresight.

<P>Mailing a disposable camera, or any unprocessed film, to the US for processing is a terrible idea. Much of the US mail is subjected to X-rays, and some is even subjected to Gamma rays and other radiation likely to fog, if not completely destroy, the film. Even the lead packets sold to protect film are of dubious merit and add greatly to the weight of the package. Either have the film developed in Spain (where 1-hour service is as nearly common as it is in the US) or carry it home with you in your <EM>hand luggage </EM>(checked baggage is subjected to X rays and other damaging radiation in this age of hyper"Security." While hand luggage is also X rayed, the strength of the radiation is usually far less than that used for checked baggage).<BR><BR></P></DIV>
