Quite some time ago there was a discussion on GoCamino about places in the Americas named in honor of Santiago, the patron saint of Spain. A few days ago, I discovered a paper published online with a long list of such places:

http://muweb.millersville.edu/~columbus/data/his/CARENAS1.HIS

I am not clear on how accurate the text of the paper may be. It was published as a part of a project at Millersville State College in Pennsylvania to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the "discovery" of America by Christopher Columbus. The paper's author makes a disclaimer about its scholarship at the beginning, and I found some peculiar spelling and other errors. Whatever the merits of the text itself, the list of place names at the end is far more extensive than any I have seen previously.
