<P>Unless you want a copy to keep at home as a souvenir, do not waste your money on the Milan Bravo Lozano book. It is out-of-date, much too heavy to carry on the Camino, and its poorly drawn and schematic maps are inadequate guides for route finding. In several places the route has changed quite substantially (due mostly to highway construction) since that guide was published, and even when it was new, the best review one could give was to write that it was available in English.</P>
<P>Last year another member of GoCamino wrote "I found the best maps to be, hands down, those little ones published by "Ediciones Way" . They really are pocket maps and are put out in sections, for instance St. Jean to Burgos, and then Burgos to Santiago. The maps are<BR>foldable to about the size of a pack of cigarretes, but flat, and have distances, telephone numbers, information about facilities, etc., in Spanish, French, English and German. The maps are called "El Camino Jacobeo en tu bolsillo", (The Way os (sic) St. James in your pocket)." While the maps are a little difficult to find for purchase, I strongly agree with that assessment, and a good travel bookstore can probably get them for you if you allow enough time. I used them last autumn, and, along with the Confraterntiy of St. James Guide, they were all that was necessary for way finding from the Pyrenees to Fisterra.</P>
<P>A secondary suggestion is the best guide book I have yet found for the Camino in any of the several languages they are available. Even if you do not read German, the maps are superb in a small, easy to carry guidebook with up-to-date information (that even a nonGerman reader can interpret without difficulty). If you do read German, the guide is excellent for commentary about places, sights, etc. in a format suitable for the pilgrim to carry. An translated edition is also available in Dutch, but I do not have the bibliographic information for it.</P>
